About Lincolnville

Congratulations to the Youngtown Inn!
YTInn

Recently, the Youngtown Inn recieved the Fodor's Choice Award!
fc-badge2010-125The Youngtown Inn has been recognized by Fodor’s Travel
the foremost name in travel publishing, as a 2010 Fodor’s Choice selection.
This distinction represents a remarkable achievement and recognizes the
Youngtown Inn & Restaurant  as a leader in its field for service, quality,
and value in the 2010 year.

Since 1988, Fodor’s Travel has been awarding the Fodor’s Choice distinction to only
the very best hotels, restaurants and attractions around the world. Every year, Fodor’s
writers experience, examine and evaluate  thousands of hotels, restaurants and
attractions in their travels across the globe. While every business included in a
Fodor’s guide is deemed worth a traveler’s time, only fifteen percent of those
selections are awarded the very highest, Fodor’s Choice designation
by Fodor’s editors.

“From hidden-away restaurants to can't-miss museums, Fodor’s Choice
selections recognize the top sights, properties, and experiences our
editors and updaters have found in their travels,” says Fodor’s
publisher Tim Jarrell. “These places are the best of the best,
providing a remarkable experience in their price range or category.”

As a 2010 Fodor’s Choice recipient Youngtown Inn receives
special recognition in the current Fodor’s guidebook to this
region and on Fodors.com.

ALSO...
The building is 200 years old! There was recently a story writtne about it by

LBG Spotlight - Beach Inspirations

Inspired Chaos!

At first blush, that's what a trip to Beach Inspirations feels like as soon as you walk in.
Until your eyes adjust. Like adjusting to night time, you have to adjust to
Beach Inspirations. It appears to be in a state of flux,  but when you adjust your
view everything changes completely. It becomes a feast for the eyes.
It reminds me of Christmas morning after all the presents have been opened,
or the vast treasure in the cave once you push the stone aside.

In a word... FUN!

Where to begin? Bags to Baubles, Kids clothing to Camp pillows and more
dried starfish then you could ever find in the sea, Beach Inspirations has it
and so much more...Gifts, cards, children's books and Christmas ephemera.
BI has so much to see that to try to describe it all would sound like that song
about the Periodic Table of Elements.
Suffice to say that Beach Inspirations is the place to find what you're looking for.

BUT WAIT. There's more...

In case you were wondering just where the ONLY store on the Mid-Coast of Maine
authorized as a CLAIRE MURRAY Signature Boutique is
(see where I'm heading here?)... well now you know.
Beach Inspirations is the ONLY Claire Murray Signature Boutique on the Mid-Coast.
Now that's saying something.
Claire Murray is BIG. You know it. I know it, and BI has it.

So what are you waiting for?

LBG Spotlight - Whale's Tooth Pub

"Let's find a spot on the beach to eat!"

WTP_night10

How many times have you either made or heard that statement? One?...A Thousand?

You see my point. When you're on the coast of Maine and you think about eating,
you think about the sea.

Welcome to the Whale's Tooth Pub. Located on the beach in Lincolnville it has the
perfect combination for happiness. Great Food + Great View = Happiness

I'll start with the Food.
When you think of a pub, you naturallywtp_burger2
think of pub fare. However...
There is pub fare and then
there is Pub Fare. I prefer the latter.

It doesn't get better than "The Tooth"
as it is affectionately known. I'm willing
to go out on a limb and say that the
Burger is the best in Maine!

It doesn't end there I'm happy to say.
The fish and chips in newspaper
and seafood stir-fry are excellent.
All fresh, all tasty. Don't stop there,
my niece lives in NJ and never can
we get through a phone call
without her mentioning the
popcorn shrimp.

The Prime Rib??? Mouth watering.

Dinner done, the chalkboard full of homemade desserts is amazing and the reason
most people leave the Tooth talking to themselves. No doubt wondering what's next,
start the diet or tryout for "The Biggest Loser"? YUM!

Let's look around.

Built in the 1700's the building was originally the British Customs House. (No fools when it comes to location those British!) It's right on Lincolnville Beach on US 1., so easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. Then interior is warm and inviting. Being open year round I can tell you that there's no better place to enjoy a blizzard than parked in front of that giant fireplace with a fresh local ale.

WTPInside1

In the summer, it's outside for some fresh air and time on the bay.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
